Getting a Dermal Filler? Here's What to Expect at Your Appointment

Dermal Fillers Minneapolis MN | Mill District Dental

When you look at yourself in the mirror, do you wish you could turn back time? Fortunately, you don’t need a time machine to enjoy a more youthful appearance! Minneapolis, MN dentist Dr. Brian Peters is pleased to offer our patients the benefits of dermal fillers.

Laughing, smiling, frowning—over time, these facial movements can create lines, making you appear older and tired. You may also notice that the youthful facial roundness and fullness you enjoyed when you were younger is gradually lost.

If you have done your research, you may already know that these problems can be eliminated with dermal fillers. Dermal fillers are an injectable gel made of hyaluronic acid, a substance that naturally occurs in the skin, which is then lost as we age.

What to Expect at Your Visit

You’ve made the decision to go ahead and invest in a more youthful appearance with dermal fillers. Now you would like to know what to expect and what happens during your treatment.

  • When you first meet with Dr. Peters, he will talk to you about the problem areas you would like to address so he knows exactly where to place the filler to achieve your desired results.
  • Fillers are comfortably and easily injected under problem areas of the skin. We use a light topical anesthetic to minimize any discomfort. You may experience some brief discomfort from the injection, but this dissipates quickly.
  • You can expect treatment to smooth away smile lines, nasolabial folds, and other facial lines.
  • The entire treatment process generally takes only 15 minutes. We can achieve the desired results in a single treatment, and you’ll enjoy the beautiful benefits for as long as a year.

Dr. Brian Peters has had extensive training in the placement of dermal fillers and has helped many of our Minneapolis, MN patients, so you can be confident you’re in good hands. If you would like to learn more about dermal fillers, please give us a call!
