First-time patient? We’re so glad you found us. Welcome to Mill District Dental.

Here are a few important things to know for your first appointment:

  • We offer free indoor parking with direct access to our office–just enter on 11th Ave. S. and follow signs for Bridgewater Lofts Guest + Retail Parking. If the lot’s full, no worries, there’s usually plenty of street parking right out front on Washington Avenue. Need a hand finding us? Give us a call, we’re happy to help.

  • Yes! We work with most insurance providers and are happy to file claims for you. Our team is here to help you understand your benefits and make sure you're getting the most out of your coverage. Give us a call anytime and we’ll work together to find the best solution. Even if we’re out of network, you may be able to receive benefits.

We also partner with Care Credit to help finance treatment plans. Ask us about our options at your next appointment.

  • Think of this first appointment as a warm welcome and a deep-dive into your smile. Here’s what you can expect when you settle into our chair:

    • A friendly chat about your dental and medical history so we can get the full picture

    • A personal conversation about any treatment options that fit your goals

    • Plenty of time for your questions–nothing’s off limits

    • Quick, comfortable digital X-rays

    • A thorough exam to check the health of your teeth, gums, and bite

    • A professional cleaning plus a careful check for cavities, gum disease, or anything else that needs attention

If your smile needs a little extra care, we’ll schedule a follow-up visit to keep everything on track.

  • Your comprehensive exam is more than a quick peek–it’s a full check-in on your oral health. We’ll:

    • Review your dental and medical history so we know the whole story

    • Take digital X-rays for a clear, detailed view beneath the surface

    • Examine your teeth, gums, bite, and jaw for any signs of cavities, gum disease, or other concerns

    • Screen for oral cancer and other conditions that can affect your overall health

    • Discuss any findings and share personalized recommendations

Think of it as a top-to-bottom wellness visit for your smile, with time for all your questions and a plan that’s tailored just for you.

  • Not much! Just bring yourself and your smile. A few little things can help the appointment run smoothly:

    • Paperwork & insurance: If you’re a new patient, complete your forms online ahead of time and have your insurance card handy

    • Medication list: Jot down any prescriptions or health changes since your last dental visit

    • Questions & goals: If you're thinking about whitening, a night guard, or anything else, make a note so we can talk it through

    • Everyday prep: Brush and floss as usual, but no need for a “special clean” beforehand

That’s it. We’ll take care of the rest and make sure you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in.
